Details This study explores the impact of virtual reality (VR) on Japanese English learners’ conversation skills and attitudes. It involved 102 intermediate learners, divided into an experimental group (59) and a control group (43), focusing on their English speaking anxiety, confidence, and cross-cultural sensitivity. Results indicated no significant differences in speaking test scores but a notable increase in positive attitudes post-VR intervention. VR was found to be more comfortable and less anxiety-inducing than face-to-face conversation, suggesting VR's potential in reducing English-speaking anxiety and boosting confidence.
