Details This study examines the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) in English language teaching through the WANDER app, used in a classroom to simulate real-world navigation and direction-giving. Seven Japanese university students with intermediate to upper-intermediate English skills participated in a program, involving VR-based exercises to enhance fluency and motivation. Preparation included instructor-led dialogues and online research, culminating in VR presentations without scripts, mimicking natural conversation. Despite initial challenges, participants showed improved speaking proficiency and motivation, underscoring VR's potential to reduce speaking anxiety and enhance language learning.
